Together as a couple since 1993, Elton John and David Furnish‘s relationship’s seemingly riding strong as the couple has two children and an LA life that many only dream of living. With a story-booked music career that dates back to the 60s, all of Elton’s trappings of success were well-earned. However, Furnish’s career is nothing to balk at either as he’s built himself a more than reputable track record as a filmmaker and producer.

“My businesses have been badly run for the last five or six years, he’s [Furnish] come in, had a look at what’s going on, pruned a few people away, made it a leaner, meaner machine. We’ve made some changes and some of them haven’t been very popular, because people don’t like being gotten rid of, which is quite right. On a human level, I understand that people are hurt; on the other hand, they needed to go.”

After nine years of being in a civil partnership, John and Furnish tied the knot in “an intimate ceremony” on December 21, 2014, according to People. In front of friends, family and several celebrities, the couple exchanged vows during a morning holy union, as seen in the photo below.

How dare you refer to my beautiful children as "synthetic". And shame on you for wagging your judgemental little fingers at IVF – a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfil their dream of having children. Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again. #BoycottDolceGabbana
On March 16, 2015, it was reported that Elton would be boycotting well-known Italian fashion designer Dolce & Gabbana for their demeaning comments about same-sex families and artificially insemination-conceived children.
Dominic Domenico Dolce, the company’s original founder, told the Italy-based Panorama magazine the following:
“You are born and you have a father and a mother. Or at least it should be so, why do not convince me the children of chemistry, synthetic children, wombs for rent, seeds selected from a catalog.”
Elton publicly fought back on his Instagram — pictured above — with the following comments:
“How dare you refer to my beautiful children as ‘synthetic’? And shame on you for wagging your judgmental little fingers at IVF – a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfill their dream of having children. Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again. #BoycottDolceGabbana.”
