Actor Anton Yelchin was killed in a tragic car accident early Sunday morning. He was only 27 years old.
Yelchin was best known for playing U.S.S. Enterprise navigator Pavel Chekov in the new Star Trek films. He played the role in the 2009 film, Star Trek Into Darkness and next month's Star Trek Beyond. However, his fans knew him for much more as he had been acting in Hollywood since he was a child. His earliest work dates back to 2000 and he scored his breakthrough role as a child in 2001's Hearts In Atlantis. The Russian-born actor was also busy in the indie community, making films like Jim Marmusch's Only Lovers Left Alive, Jodie Foster's The Beaver and Drake Doremus' Like Crazy with Felicity Jones. He also dabbled in horror films, with 2011's Fright Night and this year's Green Room. These indie films meant he was often seen at film festivals.
