Garth Brooks

Garth Brooks, 54, is one of the best-selling artists of all time, and has sold over 160 million records worldwide. Tonight, Brooks and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, will be performing a live medley of country classics. Garth was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on February 7, 1961, to a draftsman for an oil company and a country singer. In high school, he primarily focused on sports, playing baseball, football, and running track and field. Brooks attended Oklahoma State University on a track scholarship, and competed in javelin. In 1985, he decided to pursue a professional career and as a singer, and played in a number of local Oklahoma clubs and bars. His first album was released in 1989, and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Top Country Albums. (Getty)
