Salmon Baked in Foil
Baking salmon inside of foil packets is an excellent way to cook the salmon all the way through while trapping in all of the delicious flavors and juices. Your fish will retain its moisture and come out flaky and tender. Clean up could not be easier, as you simply discard the foil and save your pan from needing a serious scrubbing.
You can cook the salmon in the foil by itself, or add vegetables like asparagus or tomatoes. Your entire meal could go inside the foil packet if you wanted! Typically, the salmon is placed in the center of the foil sheet with the skin side down. You can sprinkle salt, pepper, and spices, or add some lemon slices directly on top of the fish. Or, drizzle your fillet with a sauce or marinade. Seal up the foil nice and tight at the top and you're on your way to a satisfying, protein-filled, healthy meal in 30 minutes or less. When the cook time is up, you unwrap your foil packet and enjoy. It's like a little present for your tummy.
The recipe for salmon in foil shown in the photo above comes from Giada De Laurentiis, and has a fresh-tasting Italian flair by using olive oil, tomatoes, oregano, and thyme. Click here for the recipe, which also includes a video of Giada taking you through the cooking process.
