How long is the midseason finale? (AMC)

Tonight is The Walking Dead’s midseason finale, and viewers are hoping to get more details about Carl and Negan’s newfound “relationship” and exactly what Negan has planned for Rick. They’re also hoping that well finally get to see Carol and Ezekiel interact again, because it’s been a long time. But viewers will also get another treat tonight: the episode is going to be extra long tonight.

The Walking Dead is typically just an hour long, but tonight’s episode is going to be 90 minutes (technically, it will actually clock in at 86 minutes, including commercials.) The show will begin at its regular time of 9 p.m. Eastern, but it will end at 10:26 p.m. Eastern.

Interestingly, it appears that about half of The Walking Dead‘s extended episodes have occurred this season. It seems that longer episodes are starting to become the norm.
