John Brebbia: Everything you need to know

Brebbia signed a minor-league contract with Minnesota on Sunday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports. Brebbia will report to Triple-A St. Paul, but given the unsettled state Minnesota bullpen, he may not have to wait long to get a look in the majors. Cut by the Rockies coming out of spring training, Brebbia, 35, owns a 4.04 ERA and 1.24 WHIP over 378.1 career innings in the majors across stops with St. Louis, San Francisco, the White Sox, Atlanta and Detroit.

The Rockies released Brebbia on Monday. Brebbia joined the Rockies in early December on an NRI deal. He entered spring training with a decent shot at making the team's Opening Day roster but struggled across seven Cactus League games, allowing seven runs on nine hits while striking out 11 across nine innings. The 35-year-old will look to join a team looking to add a southpaw to its bullpen.

The 35-year-old has a decent chance of cracking the Rockies' Opening Day roster as a middle reliever.
