31-year-old Kelli Glover may love serving tables at a local Cranford diner, but she’s on the track to stardom after her killer singing performance on America’s Got Talent earlier this summer. The New Jersey native auditioned for AGT in 2009 and made it to the Las Vegas round before being cut, but now she’s back and as confident as ever.
1. She’s In a Relationship
Glover’s facebook page says she’s “in a relationship”, though it doesn’t mention who exactly she’s in a relationship with.
2. She’s Friends With Miguel Dakota
On July 9, Kelli posted a picture with heartthrob Miguel Dakota. The two seem to have all their hair and makeup done, and are no doubt rehearsing for their next AGT performances.
3. She Made It To the Semi-Finals On Season 1 of American Idol
In the video above, we see a 19-year-old Kelli Glover auditioning in the top 20 for American Idol with ‘I Will Always Love You’.
The judges from the show loved her and thought she gave consistently good performances, but Simon’s only criticism was that she needs to develop her own persona and not copy Whitney Houston’s versions of the songs she sings. While Glover made it as far as the semis, she was chosen for the Wild Card round, but eventually fell short of proceeding to the next round because America didn’t cast enough votes for her.
4. She Was On the AGT Examiner’s List of Most Wanted Returning Contestants
Glover was named #19 for most wanted returning contestants on AGT by the Examiner. They assumed that the last spot in the top 40 for her season was given to a contestant who had previously auditioned for the show for a “dramatic conclusion.” They wrote,
Glover was brought in before the judges to hear the verdict on the final spot in the original Top 40 along with Mia Boostrom, whom had previously auditioned for America’s Got Talent and been rejected during the third season. The judges delivered the bad news to Glover right before giving the final spot to Boostrom.
5. She Works at Applebee’s
In an interview before her performance, Glover told AGT,
I’m the hungriest I’ve ever been and the most determined because I do feel like this is my last shot.
Though Glover loves working as a waitress, she’s had a lot of time over the past five years to think about her previous elimination from AGT and felt she had no other option than to try again.
