Ben Zorn is one of the contestants on the 2015 season of The Bachelorette and he’s from San Jose, California. Over the course of the season, Zorn battles it out in hopes of winning the heart of star Kaitlyn Bristowe. For all the info on Ben Zorn, check out our 5 Fast Facts below.

1. He Wins the First Group Date Rose Of the Season

On the first group date of the season, Zorn ends up with the rose after competing in boxing match. After three rounds of punches, Zorn is victorious and takes the win. The contestant who gets the first solo date rose this season is Clint Arlis.

2. Zorn Is An Entrepreneur And Physical Trainer

Though Zorn’s occupation is listed with ABC as an entrepreneur, his Instagram account recognizes him as a trainer. In fact, many of his online photos are of him exercising and lifting weights. In his Linked In profile, Zorn talks about his passion for fitness, writing:

In Life I strive to be Happy, Healthy, and Help those around me achieve these aspects in their own lives. I’m a Personal Trainer, Motivational Coach, and Nutritional Advisor. I have a passion for Fitness and Food. I love to cook and try to find that perfect balance between great taste and nutrition.

Currently, Zorn works as a trainer at Diesel Fueled Fitness and at ClubSport.

3. He Played Football In College

According to Ben Zorn’s Linked In account, he attended San Jose State University before graduating in 2012. Zorn played football in college as the offensive line and long snapper for the Division 1 team.

4. His Mother Has Passed Away

According to Zorn’s ABC bio, his mother has passed away. When asked, “If you could have lunch with one person, who would it be?,” Zorn’s answer was:

My mom. I would take any extra second I could get with her.

On this past Mother’s Day, Zorn posted the above photo with this message dedicated his deceased mom:

Happy Mothers Day! To all the mothers out there, you should be appreciated every day but especially today. Thankyou for all that you do. To those that took me in as your own even though you had no reason to, you have a special place in my heart.

When Zorn gets his first solo date with Kaitlyn, he opens up about his mom’s death and lets her know that he feels he has to be strong for others. This opens Kaitlyn’s eyes about the great kind of guy that Zorn is as a possible husband.

5. Zorn Speaks German

In addition to being very fit, Zorn has a few other assets, including speaking German. He says he’s pretty reserved and has been working on becoming more outgoing. In addition to being bi-lingual, Zorn is a sentimental guy, telling ABC what marriage means to him, explaining:

Being married is finding the person that completes you. It’s not about finding someone who’s perfect, but rather someone who’s perfect for you. I want to find someone who I can share my life with and have a blast doing it.

I have been watching the bachelorette since its started. Ben Z was my favorite guy!! Hes got evrything a women would want. Well hes got evrything i’d like! A genuine decent and caring guy. A true gentleman a man a real man! I would love to meet or just talk to him. How can a canadienne girl get in touch with mister right ;) help a girl out!

If this guy’s mother is in fact dead, why in hell does he never refer to her in the past tense? That freaks me out. Having lost a VERY close family member just last fall I still do not speak of her in present tense. Something is strange here…
