Christina Aguilera is back as a coach on The Voice, making this her sixth season on the panel. In the past, music artist Shakira has sat in for her as has Gwen Stefani. Last season, Stefani was a coach and ended up in a romantic relationship with fellow coach Blake Shelton. The two are currently dating. During one of Stefani’s stints on the show, Aguilera appeared on the show briefly alongside her as Stefani’s team mentor.

Aguilera has returned to the show for it’s 10th season, which means Stefani is not on board as a coach. She will, however, return as a mentor … but not on Team Christina. NJ.com reports that Stefani will join her boyfriend Blake Shelton’s team to help advise his singers.

So, it looks like Stefani will be on the show after all. Recently, Stefani and Shelton were subject to break up rumors, but there has been no announcement of a split. Plus, the two recently attended a wedding together. And, just last night the couple made their first red carpet debut together at the Vanity Fair Oscar party.

It’s safe to say that Stefani and Shelton are in it for the long haul. As for Aguilera, she said she’s ready to break the “girl curse” on The Voice as not one female team has won in all the seasons. Aguilera told People:

We’re going to win it. [I’m] in it to win it this time [and] break the girl curse. I’ve got to play the cards right. I’ve been taking notes from the guys for years now. Adam [Levine] came in full force [since] Season 1. He’s like the ultimate salesman [and] I’ve taken notes from this guy for years now.

Aguilera then added:

When Gwen came on, I remember telling her at [her son] Zuma’s birthday party, ‘Just do me one favor when you go in.’ I think I was like eight months pregnant and like, ‘Please, give the boys hell. Break the girl curse.’ And it still hasn’t been done yet, so I know she’s rooting me on, too, to come try and fix that.
