Death of a Vegas Showgirl is the newest Lifetime movie and, like many of them, is based on a true story. It centers on the death of Debbie Flores-Narvaez, a Las Vegas showgirl who went missing in December 2010. Nearly a month later, her body was found dismembered and covered in cement. The film will debut on October 22 at 8 p.m. ET.
The new film was a big effort for former Devious Maids star Roselyn Sanchez. In addition to starring as Flores-Narvaez, she is also the executive producer on the project. She is also the one who optioned the book the film is based on, Dancing on Her Grave: The Murder of a Las Vegas Showgirl by Diana Montane and Carolina Sarassa.
In an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Sanchez admitted that some changes were made to the story for artist license. Names also had to be changed as the man who was convicted of killing Flores-Narvaez, Jason "Blu" Griffith, has appealed his 2014 conviction. Griffith was sentenced to 10 years to life in prison.
