Paris Jackson has met with Rolling Stone to give her first major, exclusive interview since her father Michael Jackson’s death. Get to know Snoddy, who was present for the interview, and his relationship with the late King of Pop’s daughter.
1. His Confederate Flag Tattoo Previously Made Headlines
Michael Snoddy and Jackson made headlines in the Spring of 2016 when photographers spotted a confederate flag tattoo on Snoddy. According to the NY Times, Snoddy originally got the tattoo in 2014 to pay tribute to the Pantera album “Cowboys From Hell”. TMZ previously reported that the tattoo had not sat well with Jackson’s relatives.
On Instagram, Jackson spoke out about her boyfriend’s tattoo, saying:
My boyfriend decided to get it covered up on his own expense. He didn’t like the racism that was affiliated with it, the same way Nazis are affiliated with the Sanskrit svastika (now known as the swastika) and the same way Satanists are affiliated with many Celtic and pagan symbols.
Fortunately, Los Angeles tattoo artist Justin Lewis has covered the tattoo for Snoddy.
2. Snoddy Is a Drummer
Michael Snoddy is very into music as well, working as a drummer. The 26-year-old plays with the percussion ensemble Street Drum Corps.
A source previously told Page Six that Snoddy is a hard-working musician, explaining that:
Michael is not a scummy gold digger. “People keep referring to him as a punk because of his hair and look, but he’s a hardworking kid.
When Snoddy first moved to Los Angeles, he worked as a street performer, drumming on buckets. He talked about it briefly to Rolling Stone, saying:
It wasn’t bad. I averaged out to a hundred bucks a day.
There is a mini-museum that Michael Jackson made on the Jackson family compound and Michael used to practice dance moves in there. Currently, Rolling Stone reports that Snoddy has his drum kit set up there. Paris Jackson is presently living in the private studio where her dad demoed his hit song “Beat It.”

In her interview with Rolling Stone, Paris Jackson said that she grew up in a very open-minded household. Jackson recalled:
My dad raised me in a very open-minded house. I was eight years old, in love with this female on the cover of a magazine. Instead of yelling at me, like most homophobic parents, he was making fun of me, like, ‘Oh, you got yourself a girlfriend.’
When talking about her man Snoddy to Rolling Stone, Jackson gushed:
I never met anyone before who made me feel the way music makes me feel.
