Brooks Kriske: Breaking News

Fails to make Opening Day roster

The Athletics reassigned Kriske to minor-league camp Sunday. Kriske was one of 11 players sent out in the Athletics' latest round of roster cuts. The 32-year-old right-hander spent most of the 2025 season at the Triple-A level but made 16 appearances in the majors between stops with the Cubs and Twins, pitching to a 7.50 ERA and 1.94 WHIP across 18 innings.

Signs minors deal with Athletics

The Athletics signed Kriske to a minor-league contract Dec. 12. Kriske made 16 relief appearances between the Cubs and Twins this past season, posting a 7.50 ERA and 18:15 K:BB across 18 frames. Slated to turn 32 in February, Kriske will give the A's some experienced relief depth.

Outrighted to Triple-A

The Twins outrighted Kriske to Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday. Kriske passed through waivers after being booted off the 40-man roster. The right-handed reliever has the ability to decline the outright assignment and elect free agency, but it's unclear whether he intends to exercise that right or accept the assignment.
