Vera-Tucker (Achilles) said Wednesday it's "comforting" to know he'll be sticking at one position in 2024 as the Jets' starting right guard, Randy Lange of the team's website reports. Vera-Tucker will kick back inside this coming season after bouncing all over the offensive line throughout his first three years in the NFL. He served as the Jets' starting right tackle for five games in 2023 prior to sustaining a torn Achilles' tendon, but he said his rehab is going well, and the expectation is that he'll be ready to go for the start of the 2024 campaign. Barring further injuries or additions, the Jets' offensive line appears set from left to right. Tyron Smith and John Simpson will start on the left side, Joe Tippmann, will start at center, and Vera-Tucker and Morgan Moses will start on the right side.

Vera-Tucker (Achilles) is "feeling good" and is "definitely on pace for a good start to the season," Caroline Hendershot of the Jets' official site reports. Vera-Tucker suffered a torn Achilles on Oct. 8 against the Broncos, but it sounds like the veteran offensive lineman has a chance to be ready to compete once training camp comes around. Despite playing right tackle for the team last season, their selection of Olumuyiwa Fashanu in the 2024 Draft and trade for Morgan Moses, suggests Vera-Tucker may move inside and play guard in 2024.
Jets GM Joe Douglas said Saturday that the team will exercise Vera-Tucker's (Achilles) 2025 fifth-year option, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports. This was a no-brainer move for New York. Even though Vera-Tucker has 22 games over the last two seasons with significant triceps and Achilles injuries, he's been the the Jets' best lineman when on the field. Adding offensive line help has been an offseason priority for Douglas, signing LT Tyron Smith and OG John Simpson while trading for RT Morgan Moses. The Jets also selected OT Olumuyiwa Fashanu in the first round of this week's NFL Draft. Vera-Tucker was playing right tackle at the time of his season-ending torn Achilles. He figures to kick back inside to guard in 2024.
Davis agreed Thursday to re-sign with the Jets, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Davis, a 2020 third-round pick, suited up for all 17 regular-season games with New York last season. He played a reserve role on defense while also handling 394 snaps on special teams, totaling 37 tackles (23 solo), eight pass breakups, three interceptions and one forced fumble.
The Eagles are trading Reddick to the Jets in exchange for a conditional third-round draft pick, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Per the report, Reddick is expected to agree to a new contract with the Jets, who will reportedly absorb $14.5 million of Reddick's salary for the 2024 season. With the move, the Jets add a player who can provide a nice boost to the team's pass rush, on the heels of a 2023 campaign in which Reddick racked up 38 tackles, including 11 sacks, in 17 regular-season contests with Philadelphia.
New York re-signed Holmes on Wednesday, John Pullano of the team's official site reports. Holmes tallied five tackles and one sack across five appearances with the Jets last season, though his first defensive snaps came Week 18. He'll get another chance to compete for a third-string defensive end role this offseason.
Jets chairman Woody Johnson suggested Monday that if the Jets don't trade Wilson, they intend to keep the QB, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. That said, Cimini notes that the Jets remain motivated to deal Wilson, who last month was granted permission to speak to other teams about a possible trade. Given that Tyrod Taylor was recently signed by the Jets to back up Aaron Rodgers (Achilles), a change of scenery would no doubt benefit Wilson, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. In three seasons since then, the 24-year-old has compiled a 12-21 record as a starter and thrown more interceptions (25) than TD passes (23).
Williams noted Wednesday that he's "on schedule" in his recovery from knee surgery and expects to be ready for the start of the 2024 season, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Williams, who tore his ACL in Week 3 last season while with the Chargers, said that he's four and a half months removed from getting his knee repaired. With that in mind, Williams -- who signed a one-year deal with the Jets on Tuesday with a maximum value of $15 million -- was non-committal about whether he'll be ready for the start of training camp in late July, according to Cimini. Once the 29-year-old receiver moves past his injury, he'll provide the Jets with a field-stretching option and big-bodied red-zone target to pair with No. 1 wideout Garrett Wilson. In terms of opportunity, Williams appears to have found a good fit with New York as part of a 1-2 punch at wideout in an offense that will be helmed by quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Achilles), who's also returning from a season-ending injury.
