Preseason football is often about watching the most intriguing players rather than the most important ones, and when it comes to the San Francisco 49ers, that player isn’t difficult to spot.
NFL, meet Jarryd Hayne:

The former Rugby League star had five carries for 63 yards, one kick return for 33 yards and two punt returns for 24 yards in his NFL debut last week. The 27-year-old is an extremely enticing blend of size and athleticism, and with the amount of offseason roster turnover for the 49ers, there is certainly an opening for him to make the final 53-man roster.
It’s unclear if he will actually do so, but it’s obviously going to be fun to watch him try. Next up for Hayne and the 49ers are the Dallas Cowboys, who didn’t play many of their starters in their preseason opener last week.
Kickoff for this one is at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday night. It will be broadcast on KPIX in San Francisco and KTVT in Dallas (check here for a full list of affiliates), but if you can’t make it to a TV, here’s how to watch online and on mobile:
