A big week for Barcelona starts against Malaga, who have been tough at home and are ready for an upset. Luis Enrique’s side, who should see the return of Leo Messi today, wave Copa del Rey action on Wednesday before a meeting with Atletico Madrid next week. Barca still trail Atletico by two points in the table, although Barca have a game in hand.
Messi missed midweek Cup action with a hamstring injury, but the Argentine trained later in the week and now appears ready to go.
Malaga may reside in the bottom half of the Liga table, but they are by no means a pushover, especially at home. They’re also in-form, winning four of five matches before their recent loss to UCL qualifier Sevilla.
Los Boquerones are no slouch on home turf. They’ve only conceded five league goals at home this season- tied with Atletico for lowest total in La Liga.
