Ohio State vs. Oklahoma: Point Spread, Total & Prediction

3 Ohio State takes on 14 Oklahoma Sooners in the primetime matchup of the day. According to OddsShark, the Buckeyes are favored by one point. The over-under is set at 63 points.

The Buckeyes are young but have displayed a lot of talent in their first two games of the season. Oklahoma got off to a rough start by dropping their opener to Houston. The Sooners have an opportunity to redeem themselves at home against Ohio State.

The OddsShark computer projects Ohio State to narrowly cover the spread with a 41.8-39.8 road victory. The computer is taking the Buckeyes to cover and the over on the point total.

Heavy is a bit more bullish on Ohio State’s chances in the game. J.T. Barrett has had a great start to the season and brings experience to an otherwise inexperienced team.

One thing college football has shown us so far this season is that inexperience is not necessarily a negative. While freshman players are relatively unknown, players like Texas’ Shane Buechele and Deondre Francois have shown they are capable of contributing right away.

Urban Meyer has done a great job of bringing talent each year into Columbus, and Ohio State has reloaded once again this season. Curtis Samuels has emerged as a dynamic playmaker similar to what Meyer had at Florida in Percy Harvin. Samuels has been able to make plays running the ball as well as in the passing game.

Heavy likes Ohio State’s chances in this game to take down Baker Mayfield and company.

Heavy’s Pick: Ohio State 38 Oklahoma 30. Ohio State -1. Over on the Point Total.
