UNC head coach Bill Belichick, 73, and his girlfriend Jordon Hudson, 24, have quite a large age gap, and that’s made them a target of whispers and chatter. But, both of them seem to be handling the criticism with stride, and there are plenty of people who are supportive of their relationship, too. It’s really not anybody’s business who others chose to love, but when people are as high-profile as Belichick and Hudson, then it comes with the territory.
Belichick has been gearing up for the Tar Heels‘ next game, which is Saturday, September 20, against the UCF Knights. The Tar Heels are 2-1 going into the game, and the UCF Knights are 2-0. There’s a lot of excitement surrounding this game, and as college football viewers know, ever game is important.
Now, an unlikely person as come to the defense of Hudson. Speaking before the UNC game on Saturday, he stood up for her and said he wasn’t going to talk smack about her, ever.
It’s ‘True Love’ for Bill Belichick and Girlfriend Jordon Hudson
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy opened up about Belichick and his girlfriend, Hudson, at the UNC game on Saturday. He wasn’t shy about sharing his opinion on the matter.
“I’ll say this loud and clear: I am friends with Jordon,” Portnoy said during an appearance on Fox’s “Big Noon Kickoff. “I am afraid of Jordon, I will not talk any junk about Jordon. She’s with them [Belichick] for life. It’s true love, regardless of football.”
So, for those who are wondering if it’s true love between these two, Portnoy says the answer is absolutely yes.
He also talked about how Hudson supposedly was going to be a part of “Dancing With the Stars,” but the stars didn’t align, pun intended. “And ‘Dancing with the Stars’ made a big mistake for not having her on,” Portnoy said. “She had to quit the show.”
More on Bill Belichick’s Girlfriend Jordon Hudson
Hudson is familiar with football, because she was a star cheerleader in college. Hudson attended Bridgewater State University, and not only was she a cheerleader there but in 2021, she and her team were NCA Collegiate Champions, which is a big honor.
“I’d like to put out how grateful I am for the sport that kept me anchored through difficult seasons of adolescence and young adulthood, engrained resilience, discipline, and punctuality into my bones…and brought me lifelong friends,” Hudson stated in an Instagram post on National Women in Sports Day.
Hudson has been high-profile at UNC, but some players have said that she’s not a distraction. “If Bill Belichick’s personal life has been the predominant topic of discussion outside North Carolina’s locker room in recent months, Tar Heels players insist it hasn’t unsettled the team at all,” David Hale of ESPN stated in an August feature.
UNC receiver Jordan Shipp told Hale that he didn’t see Hudson around the team much. “Social media can promote some narrative, but that was not a distraction to us at all,” he said, adding that “there was never a problem, like people saying she was running practice. We’d never really see her in the building. That was never a problem.”
So, as the college football season heats up, Hudson will continue to be in the spotlight. But, she and Belichick seem okay with that reality.
