After an estimated 20 years, reality television icon and SKIMS mogul Kim Kardashian and her ex-boyfriend, rapper Ray J, seem to have finally settled their long-term dispute over the adult sex tape the pair made decades earlier. The resurfaced drama and legal contention comes just as Kim’s romantic relationship with Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton is on the rise, with the pair having been recently spotted in Tokyo ahead of the 2026 Japanese Grand Prix.

Just shy of two decades after the tape first surfaced publicly in 2007, the pair involved in the film appear to have finally come to an agreed upon settlement. On Friday, March 27, 2026, celebrity news outlet TMZ published a nine-page once-confidential court filing from 2003 showing that Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, entered into a deal with Ray J for an alleged settlement of approximately $6,000,000. In addition to the monetary settlement, the legal agreement reportedly included a nondisparagement clause preventing either party from speaking negatively and/or contributing to public revisitation of any portion of the controversy tied to the adult tape.
In addition to involving Kim Kardashian’s mother, the deal also names Ray J’s mom, Sonja Norwood, as a member of the agreement. The active involvement of both families is speculated to have been intended to finally close a chapter rife with smear campaigns and rehashing of the drama surrounding the explicit content housed on the tape. Aside from these details, the the remaining information contained in the documents have been redacted at this time.

At the same time that TMZ has released the details of the agreement between the Kardashian-Jenner clan and Ray J’s family, Kim’s new love interest, Sir Lewis Hamilton, is preparing for his appearance at the 2026 Japanese GP at the famed Suzuka Circuit. Though it is certain that Hamilton is currently with his Ferrari team in Japan, it is less clear if Kim is still there or if she left after the two were photographed together earlier in the week strolling the streets of Tokyo.
The pair have been friends for at least a decade and have floated around in the same A-List celebrity circles for years, with Lewis Hamilton even having dated Kendall Jenner in the past. Ever since first being photographed publicly together at the Super Bowl in early February of this year, Kardashian and Hamilton haven’t slowed down the trajectory of their relationship and genuinely seem to be enjoying spending time together as their romance continues to blossom.
