Lando Norris, the British Formula 1 driver for McLaren, is the 2025 World Champion. He is one of the most exciting young talents and has impressed many since joining the grid.
Norris has stuck with McLaren for his entire F1 career so far, joining the Woking-based team in 2019 after two years in their driver academy. He made his F1 debut at the 2019 Australian GP and scored his first Grand Prix victory at the 2024 Miami GP.
But there’s more to Norris than just race results. We’ve rounded up five things you might not know about the Brit, who grew up in Glastonbury before moving to Monaco in 2022.
1. Lando Norris has dual British-Belgian citizenship
Norris competes in Formula 1 under a British racing licence, having been born in Bristol, England, on November 13, 1999.
His father, Adam Norris, is British, while his dual citizenship comes through his Belgian mother, Cisca Norris, who is originally from the Flanders region in northern Belgium.
Norris grew up alongside three siblings — brother Oliver and sisters Flo and Cisca — and is the second oldest of the four children.
2. Lando Norris Has Founded His Own Go-Karting Brand
Lando Norris has leveraged his growing profile and success in Formula 1 to expand beyond the racetrack, branching into multiple business ventures. In 2020, he co-founded Quadrant, an esports team and lifestyle apparel brand aimed at connecting motorsport, gaming, and youth culture.
A year later, Norris continued investing in the future of racing by launching LN Racing Kart in partnership with the OTK Kart Group.
The project was created to give young drivers the opportunity to compete globally using top-level karting equipment and professional development support.
3. Lando Norris is the Third Highest Paid Driver
Lando Norris ranks third on Formula 1’s salary list — behind Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton — despite sitting at the very top of the drivers’ standings.
The newly crowned world champion is estimated to have earned around $57.5 million (approximately €54.6 million). Interestingly, Norris’ base salary is believed to be “just” $18 million (around €17.1 million).
However, thanks to nearly $40 million (€37.9 million) in performance bonuses tied to his championship-winning season, the McLaren star is certainly not short of earnings.
4. Lando Norris Likes to Spread Kindness Like Confetti
When asked about one of the biggest life lessons he has learned, the Brit pointed to a simple message they passed on to him:
“I think my parents gave me this one — be kind to others.”
He added that he tries to make that principle one of his defining traits, aiming to do more for others than he does for himself and to live by kindness both on and off the track.
5. Lando Norris Seems to Be Single Again

GettyLando Norris and Margarida Corceiro officially became a couple in 2025. Now, however, reports suggest the pair may have split.

The pair had been linked since 2023, but their relationship only became public to a wider audience during the 2025 Formula 1 season.
