After another disappointing playoff exit for superstar Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, the team’s glaring need seems to be pretty obvious, with no real threats downfield for one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
Although the Bills have tried to address the wide receiver position year after year following Stefon Diggs‘ exit, Buffalo simply hasn’t been able to find a consistent threat for Allen to go to in crucial moments, which has put a limit on what this team can accomplish despite always seemingly being in Super Bowl title contention in the AFC.
Alec Pierce Predicted to Sign With Bills

With new head coach Joe Brady having more of an offensive focus, the Bills could get aggressive during the NFL offseason to upgrade the wide receiver position.
Greg Auman of FOX Sports recently put together a list of his top 100 players in NFL free agency, and he believes the Bills could go after Indianapolis Colts wideout Alec Pierce to help fill the void downfield in 2026.
Pierce, 25, is arguably the NFL’s best deep-threat receiver, leading the league in yards per catch in each of the last two seasons. He topped 1,000 receiving yards in 2025, and four touchdowns in the last three games helped his market a bit. The Colts have a handful of top free agents and won’t be able to keep them all. Pierce is likely to command $20 million a year as an underrated player who could be utilized more — Ja’Marr Chase had 101 more targets in 2025 than Pierce did, but only 409 more yards than the Colts wide receiver.
Prediction: Signs with Bills
Pierce has only gotten better year after year with the Colts, as he finished the 2025 campaign with career-best numbers in receptions (47), receiving yards (1,003), and led the NFL in receiving yards per reception at 21.3 while also catching six touchdowns, which is one off his career high in that category.
Could Bills Trade for Vikings WR Justin Jefferson?

The Bills might also have another very intriguing option to go after during the NFL offseason, with Brady having ties to superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings due to their time together at LSU, as CBS Sports’ Jordan Dajani suggests.
Joe Brady’s name popped up on NFL radars in 2019, when he served as the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach at LSU. The undefeated Tigers had a historical season, which was powered by the play of Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase. Now, he’s the head coach of the Bills, and this offseason, Buffalo makes an aggressive move to pair its new coach with a friend of his — sending the Minnesota Vikings a package of picks for Jefferson.
Obviously, this would be a massive game-changing move for the Bills, as Allen and Jefferson would instantly become one of the most talented quarterback-receiver duos in the NFL. Still, it might be a stretch that Buffalo can pull this off without the perennial Pro Bowler forcing his way to the team.
However, anything can happen in the NFL, especially when a team like the Bills is under tremendous pressure to make a win-now move.
