Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is getting some big respect from his NFL peers.
The former league MVP has yet to appear on the NFL Top 100 list, with only three spots remaining. Unless he has fallen out of the Top 100 entirely, that would mean fellow NFL players believe that Allen is the best signal-caller in the league.
Josh Allen Set to Earn Career-First Accomplishment
The NFL Top 100 has been revealing player rankings gradually as the 2026 season approaches, announcing on Tuesday that Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is the No. 4 player in the league. There are only three players left who are expected to make an appearance — running back Saquon Barkley, edge rusher Myles Garrett, and Allen.
Allen has appeared on the list every year since 2020, following his second season in the NFL. He worked his way up steadily, starting at No. 87 and reaching inside the Top 15 every other year, including a No. 3 ranking in 2025, following his MVP campaign.
But Allen had never been ranked as the league’s top quarterback. At his No. 3 overall finish last year, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson finished first.
Allen was an early contender for league MVP last season, but fell out of the competition as Stafford and New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye made it a two-man race. Stafford ended up barely edging out Maye, but both quarterbacks will now rank below Allen in the list compiled by their NFL peers.
It remains to be seen how high Allen will climb this year. Garrett has a strong case for the league’s top player, having just broken the league’s single-season sack record in 2025.

Before the start of the season, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Allen would be expanding a popular fundraising effort that he led in 2025.
