1. Dog & Bone Wetsuit Waterproof Case with Touch ID for iPhone 6
This newer iPhone 6 case from Dog & Bone is waterproof, and can be fully submerged in water up to two meters for 30 minutes. This case boasts a IP68 waterproof rating, as well as exceeding the military’s drop test standards for drops from two meters. This rugged design makes the case very appealing. However, a few users have reported issues with water-tightness, as well as issues pulling up menus on the touchscreen with ease. However, this case is a nice option for those looking for a waterproof iPhone 6 case that costs less than a case from LifeProof.

2. Griffin Survivor All-Terrain Waterproof iPhone 6 Case
All right, to be fair, this isn’t strictly a waterproof case. It is not designed to be submerged, but it is designed to protect your iPhone 6 against windblown rain. The case offers 360 degree protection, thanks to a built-in screen protector and sealed ports that keep out windblown rain, sand, and dust. While this isn’t the right waterproof case for those who are interested in underwater phone use, it’s still a solid option to consider for people who need a case that can stand up to accidental splashes of water.
Price: $44.99 (10 percent off MSRP)
- Built-in screen protector
- Rugged design
- Exceeds US military standards (MIL STD 810F) for drop tests
- Not fully waterproof, just highly water-resistant
- Some dislike visual/tactile experience with built-in screen protector
- Some users find screen protector to be too flexible
3. LifeProof Fre iPhone 6 Waterproof Case
There are two styles of waterproof cases available from LifeProof. The LifeProof Fre has a built-in screen protector, while the LifeProof Nuud remains waterproof, but doesn’t have a built-in screen protector at all. Other than the screen protector, these two cases are basically identical, though the Fre does have some additional color options. The Fre can be used underwater at a depth of two meters, but only for about an hour. You could use a LifeProof case in conjunction with a pair of waterproof earbuds.
While the Fre isn’t exactly a new case, the latest versions of the case to come off the production line have some slight design tweaks that were missing from the initial version of the case. Most notably, the charging port can now accept wider, third party Lightning cables. This is a nice perk for those who use a lot of third party peripherals. That being said, there is one issue some users have experienced with the Fre case for the iPhone 6 which may give you pause. The Fre case in our household recently lost its waterproof integrity when the clear rear window became unstuck from the rest of the case. This caused a slow leak, and trapped a small amount of water against the back of the phone. Make sure to regularly test the water-tightness of any waterproof iPhone 6 case you use, to ensure that your waterproof case is holding up to wear and tear.
- Trusted brand
- Works with TouchID
- Can be used underwater for around an hour
- Slightly changes appearance of display
- Some users have experienced loss of waterproofing
4. Catalyst Waterproof iPhone 6 Case
This waterproof iPhone 6 case is a nice option for people who want to show off the lines of their phone, since the whole back is exposed. It’s also the ideal option for people seeking an iPhone 6 case that can go deeper under the waves. While some cases on our list can only go about two meters below water, this case is rated to depths of five meters. It also meets military drop test standards. It also has a hard-coated optical lens. There’s also an included wrist lanyard and attachment point, so you can keep a better grip on this waterproof iPhone case in wet conditions.
- Waterproof to deeper depths than some other cases
- Designed to prevent screen “rainbowing”
- Plays nice with third party cables
- A bit on the pricey side
- Not ideal for people who like colorful cases
- Some find port cover design a bit too easy to open
5. Hitcase HC18300 PRO Waterproof Case for iPhone 6
Hitcase is the best waterproof iPhone case brand for people who love photography. This case is unique because of its wide angle lens, allowing you to take more interesting photographs. It’s also waterproof to 10 meters. The case is rugged, though some users who owned both the iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 version of this case argue that the old iPhone 5 version was a bit more luxe. Still, the rugged and easy-to-hold design of this case definitely makes it worth your hard-earned cash.
- Waterproof to 10 meters
- Ideal for photography
- Made in the USA
- Comes with a wide angle lens, works with performance lenses and versatile mounts
- Limited case color options
- Some users find case feels cheap compared to iPhone 5 version
