One of the world’s funniest couples, who seemed to be one of the happiest, are calling it quits after nine years. R.I.P., Will Arnett and Amy Poehler. The breakup is “amicable,” according to US Weekly‘s source. Here’s what you should know.
1. They Were Married on August 29, 2003
2. They Began Dating in 2000
Their relationship started in 2000, but four years earlier Will first had the hots for Amy. A People profile of Poehler quotes Will describing how she caught his eye while performing in 1996 with the improv group Upright Citizens Brigade:
“I went with my then-girlfriend, and she was like, ‘You have a crush on that girl!’ ” says Arnett. “Amy did stick out. She was fantastic and obviously really cute.” Four years later they began dating after meeting through friends. “He makes me feel very safe,” she says. “You can have a lot of adventures if you have someone by your side.”

Arnett and Poehler have two young sons: Archie, 3, and Abel, 2.

Arnett and Poehler often worked together, including performances in Arrested Development, Monsters vs. Aliens, Horton Hears a Who! and Spring Breakdown.
