1. The News of McDermott’s Cheating Came Out on Christmas 2013
Dean McDermott’s affair with a 28-year-old woman named Emily Goodhand spread out all over the media on Christmas Eve 2013. A week before the news broke, Spelling’s publicist called her to prepare her for the news. Spelling said that she spoke with her husband in private and asked what happened. McDermott first said that nothing happened, but Spelling knew that there was definitely more to the story and McDermott was forced to come clean.

2. McDermott’s Cheating Scandal Is Shown on True Tori
Tonight is the premiere of the docu-series True Tori, which takes viewers on the journey through Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott’s cheating scandal. In the above clip, McDermott and Spelling meet with a therapist, to whom McDermott admits, “My worst nightmare is what I did. Absolutely, I cheated on my wife.” But, to add insult to injury, McDermott insults his sex life with his wife and says he wasn’t even attracted to the woman with whom he had the fling.

3. Spelling & McDermott’s Marriage Began With Cheating
Spelling has confessed in the past that she often would worry about her husband cheating on her since their relationship started as an affair. Both of them were married at the time they got together. Wikipedia records their affair in detail:
McDermott’s first wife was Mary Jo Eustace. In July 2005, McDermott began filming the Lifetime TV movie Mind Over Murder in Ottawa, alongside Tori Spelling. The two began an affair the night they met, despite both being married.
When McDermott divorced Eustace, he was granted joint custody of their son Jack, but he bowed out in the adoption of a baby girl, Lola, whom he and Eustace were in the process of adopting before they decided to separate.

If you’ve watched any of the reality shows McDermott has filmed with his wife, you’ve seen McDermott’s love of motorcycles causing issues in his marriage. He was injured several times on the show and on July 1, 2010, McDermott was involved in a dirt bike accident, from which he suffered a punctured and collapsed lung.
