Everyone’s going to be talking about the Game of Thrones premiere on HBO tonight, so you’ll definitely want to watch the episode live if at all possible. But what time is it airing on the west coast? If you just go to HBO’s website, it’s not super easy to tell. West Coast folks tend to be behind everyone else, but depending on how you access the show, that may not be true tonight.
The premiere will air at 9 p.m. Pacific on HBO for people on the West coast. This means that if you live in that region, you’ll be seeing it a bit later than your counterparts who get the “eastern broadcast” feed versus the “western broadcast” feed.
But, you may get to watch it along with your eastern counterparts if you use HBO Now.
According to excited fans on several Game of Thrones discussion forums, if you’re watching it on HBO Now, the episode may be available everywhere when it airs at 9 p.m. Eastern time. This means that if you’re watching it on the HBO Now livestream and you’re in California or another area that typically gets the western broadcast feed, for example, you might actually get to see the episode earlier than you would if you were watching live on the HBO channel. This isn’t guaranteed, but it’s worth checking HBO Now to see if it’s up early in your region.
