There is an extreme amount of apps in the App Store, and it can be quite overwhelming. Lately, we’ve been posting about the best “free” apps. In this post we’ll switch it up and let you know which apps are worth paying for.
WhatsApp Messenger is an app created by WhatsApp Inc. that allows users to chat for free with anyone else who has WhatsApp Messenger installed on their smartphone. If you go over your monthly text messages, this app will help you save money from overpaying your cell phone carrier. Similar to iMessage for iOS, WhatsApp Messenger will notify you when a text has been received by the recipient. Users can upload photos, videos, and audio messages into conversations to make the conversation more lively. 2. Heads Up!
If you watch Ellen Degeneres’ TV show, then you’ve probably seen her play Heads Up! Heads Up! is Ellen’s game that has been turned into an app. The game can be played with two players or in a fun group setting. Players will pick from a large selection of “decks,” which include categories like celebrities, singing, characters, accents and more. One player will place the smartphone on their forehead, while other players will need to describe what the word is. If a player guesses the word correcting, the player holding the smartphone will tip the smartphone forward, which will bring up the next word. Formerly known as Afterglows, AfterLight is a photo & video app created by Simon Filip. In AfterLight, users can upload or take pictures and add new filters to them, similar to the way you can in Instagram. Users have the option to add filters and modify the brightness, saturation, exposure, highlights on a photo. You can also easily change the orientation of your photo. If you enjoy shooting video, you can add instant film textures. Once your photo is exactly the way you want it, you have the option to save it and share through Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, or Email.. 4. Cut the Rope: Time Travel
In the beginning of Cut the Rope: Time Travel, Om Nom discovers a time machine and goes back in time to find out where he came from. Similar to Cut the Rope, players need to cut the rope to feed Om Nom pieces of candy. Just swipe the rope and candy will fall into Om Nom’s mouth. Each level becomes more challenging as more ropes get added and you will need to collect shining stars. If you’re not able to collect any shining stars you won’t get any points. Players can unleash super powers by letting Teleknesis control candy and collect hidden stars. 6. Downhill Supreme
Downhill Supreme is an arcade game about cycling. In the rookie level players must complete twenty different stages to move onto the next. To allow the cyclist to start riding simply hit the pedal button on the right hand side of the screen. As you advance, the challenge will increase, making the cyclist travel through steep hills. Make sure you get familiar with the “lean back” and “lean forward” buttons, because if you don’t, you will lose the adrenaline rush and your player will crash. Use various objects, weapons, guns, or explosives. The more you end up hurting Buddy, the more money you will make, which can be used to upgrade your weapons. 9. Sleep Cycle
Created by Maciek Drejak Labs, Sleep Cycle is an alarm clock that measures the movements you make while you’re sleeping. When installed on your smartphone, Sleep Cycle will wake you up when you’re in a light sleeping phase. Users can choose from eight different alarm clock sounds, see graphs how you sleep at night, and see average sleep time. The Home Screen allows you to see recent activity, workouts you’ve completed and food you logged into the system. If you click on the “Routes” tab it takes you to MapMyRun section, where you can create new runs or see existing routes by other MapMyRun users.
