The Twins released Camargo on Thursday. The 26-year-old was designated for assignment by Minnesota earlier in the week, and he won't stick around the organization. Camargo struggled to a .212/.258/.319 slash line in 31 games with Triple-A St. Paul this season.

Optioned to Triple-A

The Twins optioned Camargo to Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Camargo was never going to make the Opening Day roster as long as both Ryan Jeffers and Christian Vazquez were healthy. He'll provide catching depth at St. Paul.

Sent back to Triple-A

The Twins optioned Camargo to Triple-A St. Paul on Friday, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Camargo was brought up to the big-league club Thursday as a tertiary catching option, but he'll return to Triple-A on Friday. Reliever Kody Funderburk was activated from the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move.
