Foster Moreau: Everything you need to know

Moreau (ankle) agreed to terms Wednesday on a contract with the Texans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Moreau appears fully recovered from the ankle injury that limited him to 11 regular-season appearances with the Saints in 2025, in which span he secured seven of 10 targets for 46 yards. He had been heavily involved in New Orleans' tight end rotation in 2024, when he logged a 32-413-5 receiving line (43 targets) while playing all 17 regular-season games. Going forward, Moreau will operate as one of Houston's top options behind starting TE Dalton Schultz (calf), who recently inked an extension through 2027.

Moreau (ankle) was placed on the injured reserve list Friday. The 28-year-old from LSU had already been ruled out for the Week 17 matchup against the Titans due to an ankle injury, but he's since moved to IR and will miss the remainder of the season. In 11 appearances this season, Moreau caught seven of 10 targets for 46 yards. Expect Taysom Hill and Jack Stoll to have larger roles in the Saints' tight-end corps over the final two games of the campaign.

Coach Kellen Moore said Monday that Moreau (ankle) will not play next Sunday against the Titans, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. Moore said the team will monitor Moreau next week to see if he'll be able to play in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Falcons. Moreau was injured in Sunday's win over the Jets. Taysom Hill, Jack Stoll and Moliki Matavao will be candidates to see elevated snaps with Moreau out versus Tennessee.
