The Buccaneers waived Wright on Monday, Brianna Dix of the team's official site reports. Wright played in three games for the Buccaneers in 2025, contributing six yards on three rushes and 73 yards as a kick returner. The running back signed a reserve/future contract with the team in early January, but it looks like he will not be making it to training camp and will likely find himself back on a practice squad ahead of the 2026 regular season.

Inks future deal with Tampa Bay
The Buccaneers signed Wright to a reserve/future contract Monday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports. Wright was on and off of Tampa Bay's practice squad throughout the 2025 season, and he appeared in three contests, turning three carries into six yards while playing seven total offensive snaps. The running back will now have the chance to participate in the Buccaneers' offseason activities, and he'll look to compete for a reserve role behind Bucky Irving with top backup Rachaad White set to become a free agent.
Back with Bucs' practice squad
Tampa Bay signed Wright to its practice squad Tuesday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports. Wright was cut from the Buccaneers' practice squad Saturday, but he's now back with the club less than a week later. Over three games with Tampa Bay in 2025, he has handled three carries for six yards.
