On Friday, the St. Louis Cardinals will open up a series with the Los Angeles Dodgers (at home).
The Cardinals are coming off a 10-5 win over the Pirates (in Pittsburgh) on Thursday.
Earlier this week, the team announced that they had claimed Luis Peralta off waivers from the Colorado Rockies.
They wrote (via X) on April 27: “We have claimed LHP Luis Peralta off waivers from Colorado and optioned him to Memphis (AAA).”

That said, the Cardinals have now designated Peralta for assignment.
He did not appear in a game for the team.

Peralta has appeared in 23 MLB games for the Rockies over the last two seasons.
In 2025, he went 1-3 with a 9.47 ERA in 22 games.
At just 25, Peralta could be a good addition for another organization (or the Triple-A team of the Cardinals).

Following the Dodgers, the Cardinals will play their next series on Monday when they remain at home to host the Milwaukee Brewers.
