The Buffalo Bills put in some work at a joint practice with the Cleveland Browns on Thursday ahead of the two teams’ upcoming preseason clash on Saturday afternoon. Given their pedigree as one of the league’s top squads, the Bills were widely expected to dominate the action, but the Browns made them work for everything they got.
All eyes were on Cleveland’s offense, as the quarterback battle between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders has continued to rage on. However, it was rookie wide receiver KC Concepcion who caught the most attention, thanks in large part to the fact that he was continually trash-talking Buffalo’s defense.

Much has been made about the Bills’ offense this offseason, but as long as Josh Allen is under center, they are going to put up points. The unit that is truly going to determine how successful Buffalo is in 2026 is its defense, which has seen some improvements be made over the past couple of months.
For much of the past few years, the Bills have had enough talent to beat any opponent it has gone up against. Adding some star-level players, though, was key this offseason. Bradley Chubb was the big addition in that department, as he signed a three-year, $43.5 million contract with the team in free agency.
If there’s an area of weakness, though, it’s the secondary. Christian Benford is a star cornerback, but the rest of the group around him has its fair share of question marks. This was on full display against a mediocre Browns’ passing attack, as Concepcion, who was selected with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, was carving this group up, and he let Buffalo’s defense hear it with some NSFW trash talk.
“They sh**ty, I’m telling you,” Concepcion was heard saying in a clip uploaded on X by @RouteUniverse9 after gashing the Bills’ defense for a touchdown.

Like every team, the Bills have some things they need to improve upon before the season gets underway. In case that wasn’t clear, their struggles against the Browns put that on full display. This isn’t to say Buffalo is in rough shape, but if it is struggling to contain Cleveland’s aerial attack, that means things need to be improved upon. The good news, of course, is that Week 1 is still a couple of weeks away.
The Bills underwent a lot of change over the offseason, which includes the arrival of new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard. It’s going to take time for all the pieces of the puzzle to come together, but as long as the end result is a Super Bowl run, no one will care how that gets done. Containing Concepcion proved to be a challenge, and Buffalo will have to find a way to overcome this speed bump in its upcoming preseason clash on Saturday.
