Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld are officially parents, and the name of their newly arrived baby is already sparking speculation.
The Buffalo Bills quarterback and his Academy Award-winning wife announced on Thursday that they welcomed their first child, a baby girl. The couple had been relatively light on details during the pregnancy, and have now sparked more speculation on the baby’s name.

Allen and Steinfeld did not yet reveal the name of their baby, sharing only a brief announcement on Steinfeld’s Beau Society newsletter.
“Our baby girl has arrived!!” the couple wrote. “We’re feeling incredibly grateful and blessed and savoring these early moments. Thank you so much for the love and well wishes.”
There had already been some building speculation about what name Allen and Steinfeld might choose for their baby. In a January newsletter, Steinfeld shared a picture of a onesie with the words, “Baby Beau,” leading some fans to speculate that her newsletter title could also be in the running for the baby’s name.
Beau could be a potential namesake for Steinfeld, who revealed that it had been her nickname when she was younger.
“I named it ‘Beau Society’ because my nickname is Beau; it’s what everyone in my family calls me,” Steinfeld wrote. “In many ways, it reflects the most personal side of me.”
While the couple avoided details about the baby including her gender or due date, both spoke about how excited they were to welcome their first child.
“I have siblings that have kids, I’ve got a lot of friends who have kids, I don’t know if you can plan too far in advance,” Allen said.
“I’m very much looking forward to that with my wife — becoming a dad. It’s something that I will take with great pride, and it’s something that we will have to figure out as we go, like everything else.”
Fans Figured Out Other Hints on Hailee Steinfeld’s Baby
Some sharp-eyed fans had already figured out details of Allen and Steinfeld’s baby through hints in her newsletter and picture sharing. As Alex Brasky of SI.com noted, fans speculated that the couple was having a girl based on some pictures that Steinfeld shared to her newsletter subscribers.
“In the photo, Steinfeld displays her pregnancy along with a bouquet of flowers, some of which were light blue, and a light blue ribbon, leading many to insinuate that the 29-year-old mother-to-be was sending subtle signs that she and Allen are indeed expecting a son,” Brasky wrote.
It’s not clear when Allen and Steinfeld will release other details of their baby, including her name, and there are still plenty of questions on how becoming a father will impact the Bills quarterback. The team has optional practices starting this month, but he would not need to report for mandatory minicamp for likely two months. While the Bills have not released their full offseason practice schedule, the team normally holds mandatory minicamp in the first week of June.
