Not long ago, the Denver Broncos had one of the best pure pass rushers in the NFL with Von Miller.
Miller, who was originally drafted by the Broncos with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, was a superstar for the team for his first nine and a half seasons. He was traded to the Los Angeles Rams in 2021.
Since being traded away by Denver, Miller has played for the Rams, Buffalo Bills, and Washington Commanders. He is now 37 years old.
While Miller is not the superstar player that he once was, he is still capable of playing a role in the NFL. He has also remained vocal about his love for Denver. A reunion with the Broncos has been rumored for quite some time.
Keeping that in mind, Miller has dropped a new hint about a potential return to Denver.
Von Miller Teases Potential Return to the Denver Broncos
In a post on Instagram, Miller shared a video that teased the Broncos. Could he actually be working on a return to Denver to finish out his NFL career?
Here is the video that he shared:
There is a chance that he was just feeling nostalgic and thinking back to his previous tenure with the Broncos. Or, it’s also possible that Denver will bring him back on a one-year deal to bolster its pass rushing depth.
Miller will always be remembered as a member of the Broncos. He may have played for three other NFL teams, but Denver will always be home for him at the end of the day.
Let’s take a closer look at what Miller could offer the Broncos.
What Could Von Miller Bring to the Broncos?
At this stage of his career, no one should expect Miller to be an every down pass rusher. However, he’s still able to be a pass rushing specialist who can get after a quarterback.
Last season with the Commanders, Miller played in all 17 regular season games in a limited role. He racked up 26 total tackles to go along with nine sacks.
Throughout his entire NFL career, the veteran pass rusher has played in 204 games. He has racked up 606 tackles, 138.5 sacks, 27 forced fumbles, nine fumble recoveries, two interceptions, a defensive touchdown, and 24 defended passes.
Even if Miller didn’t play a crucial role, he would be excellent depth in case of injury. Any team that wants to contend for a Super Bowl needs quality depth.
All of that being said, it will be interesting to see if Miller does return to the Broncos. Whether he heads to Denver or not, it would be surprising to not see him land with a new team in the near future as training camp approaches.
