Manchester City picked up three points in the Premier League season opener, but that doesn’t stop them from strengthening the team.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Man City has agreed to a deal for Palmeiras winger Allan Elias (who commonly goes by Allan) for €37.5 million, with another €2.5 million in add-ons.

“Manchester City reach agreement with Palmeiras to sign Allan Elias. Deal for 22yo #Palmeiras winger worth €37.5m fixed + €2.5m add-ons. Contract length for Brazilian in process of being finalised before #MCFC move as Savinho replacement @TheAthleticFC.”

With the summer transfer window set to close soon, the Premier League side needed to conduct business quickly. Birmingham side Aston Villa was another club interested in the winger before Manchester City agreed to a fee for the attacker.

The newest addition for Manchester City, Allan Elias, plays for Brazil side Palmeiras and is also an academy graduate from the club.

Elias has recorded 9 goals and 12 assists in his professional career so far and will now take his talents to England.

As Ornstein mentioned, City landing Allan comes as the club needs depth on the right wing after the departure of Savinho to Tottenham in a deal that could reach up to €85 million.

Replacing Savinho, who has recorded 7 goals and 13 assists in his time with the club, Allan will bring some forward attack for Man City.

“Allan is an exciting dribbler, happy to both chop inside and drive to the byline, while he works extremely hard without the ball,” The Athletic’s Thom Harris wrote. “He has performed well in more of a wing-back role, strong in duels and energetic to run the flanks, but he can also pose a danger from a more advanced position…”

“Though he can go both ways, Allan likes to shift the ball onto his left foot, where he strikes through the ball consistently cleanly from distance.”

Needing some time to integrate not only Enzo Maresca’s style of play, but the winger will have to quickly adapt to the Premier League with the season already ongoing.

While Manchester City have won the first game of the 2026 Premier League campaign, the team lost their first official match of the season, losing to Arsenal, 0-3, in the FA Comminuty shield.

New manager Enzo Maresca has the biggest challenge in the Prem, replacing Pep Guardiola, who won 20 trophies with the club.

“Very excited. Very excited to start this new chapter, this new journey,” Maresca said, via Man City.  “The target is to carry on in the same way as the last 10, 15 years…I said from day one I feel for me it’s a privilege to be here.”

“It’s a huge club, huge organisation. I am convinced because of the players and because of the club and what we can do that we can achieve something important… It’s normal that it’s not something magic [instantly]. Day after day it’s something you need to build and we are going to build.”

With the summer transfer window set to close soon, Enzo Marseca continues to build his team, with Allen Elias being the latest addition.
