The United States will face Haiti for the first time since the 2009 Gold Cup. Fresh off a strong performance against Honduras, the US will play their second of three first round matches. A win would likely send them through to the knock-out stages. The match against Honduras was a very physical game. It will be interesting to see if that plus the short turnaround time will have an effect on the United States.

The United States find themselves atop the table for Group A with 3 points. Haiti is coming into the match with a bit of momentum. They scored an equalizer with four minutes remaining in Monday’s match against Panama. It ended in a 1-1 draw.
While there were certainly bright spots for Team USA in their first match against Honduras, there was quite a bit of mediocre play. Honduras was able to control much of the second half and had more than double the shots on goal than the United States.
Experts project Haiti as the weakest team in Group A. However, they were able to get a point in their first match. The United States is coming off a very physical match and will have just two days to rest. That said, the United States should still be able to win this match by a couple goals.
