The Athletics selected Stefanic's contract from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday. The 30-year-old will get a look in the big leagues with the A's after signing as a non-roster invitee in December and failing to make the Opening Day roster. Stefanic's .250/.351/.355 slash line in 149 plate appearances at Triple-A this year is underwhelming, though he does have a 17:16 BB:K. He'll provide the club with some infield depth as Jacob Wilson (shoulder) heads to the injured list.

Michael Stefanic: Breaking News
Fails to crack Opening Day roster
The Athletics reassigned Stefanic to minor-league camp Sunday. Stefanic was one of 11 players sent out in the Athletics' latest round of roster cuts. The 30-year-old infielder spent most of the 2025 season at the Triple-A level as a member of the Blue Jays organization but saw action in nine games with the big club, going 4-for-22 at the dish.
Signs with Athletics as NRI
The Athletics signed Stefanic to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training Monday, Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.com reports. Stefanic saw spot duty with the Blue Jays in 2025 but spent most of the year at Triple-A Buffalo, where he slashed .287/.403/.383 over 106 contests. The utility player will turn 30 in February and is a career .227/.314/.267 hitter over parts of four major-league seasons.
