Anderson retired from Major League Baseball on Saturday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. Anderson has spent the entire 2026 season in the Athletics' minor-league system with Triple-A Las Vegas, where he's logged a 2.16 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 16:5 K:BB across 16.2 innings. He made his major-league debut in 2019 with the Marlins and was named to the All-MLB First-Team in 2020 as a member of the Rays. Anderson tossed 173 innings across his major-league career and will finish with a 3.43 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 10 saves, 39 holds and a 212:49 K:BB.
Anderson signed a minor-league contract with the Athletics on Wednesday that includes an invitation to spring training, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports. Anderson made 12 appearances in the majors for Colorado in 2025, turning in a 6.14 ERA and 1.30 WHIP across 14.2 innings. He'll receive a chance to redeem himself during spring training with the A's, but he'll most likely report to Triple-A Las Vegas to begin the 2026 season.
Anderson agreed to a contract with the Mariners on Sunday, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports. The veteran right-hander elected free agency after the Rockies demoted him to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, and it didn't take long for him to latch on with a new organization. It's unclear if Anderson joined Seattle on a major-league or minor-league deal, but it's worth noting that he wasn't exactly pitching well for Colorado with a 6.14 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 10:2 K:BB across 14.2 innings in 2025.
