Tayler Saucedo: Breaking News

The Angels optioned Saucedo to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday. Saucedo made three scoreless appearances during his most recent stint in the big leagues. With Drew Pomeranz (elbow) back from the injured list, Saucedo will head back to Salt Lake.

The Angels recalled Saucedo from Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday. It's the second time this season that Saucedo has been called up by the big club, with his lone major-league appearance taking place May 3 against the Mets, when he allowed one run while striking two batters across two-thirds of an inning. In Triple-A this season, Saucedo has a 4.82 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 20:13 K:BB across 18.2 innings. In a corresponding move, right-hander Ryan Johnson was optioned to Double-A Rocket City following the Angels' 14-6 loss to the Athletics on Tuesday.

The Angels optioned Saucedo to Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday. Saucedo gave up one earned run while striking out two batters over two-thirds of an inning during his lone appearance after getting selected from Triple-A on Sunday. He'll now head back to the minors, though the fact that he still has a 40-man roster spot will make it easier for him to return to Anaheim at some point. Kirby Yates (knee) was reinstated from the IL in a corresponding move.
