Barkley finished with a season low in rushing yards, as he was bottled up after producing runs of 14 and 19 yards in the first quarter. The star running back is usually the focal point of the Giants' offense, and Barkley has at least 12 carries and three targets in all nine games he's played this season. After a Week 13 bye, Barkley will need 135 scrimmage yards in Week 14 against the Packers to reach 1,000 for the fourth time in six NFL seasons.

Quiet in Week 12 victory

Barkley finished with a season low in rushing yards, as he was bottled up after producing runs of 14 and 19 yards in the first quarter. The star running back is usually the focal point of the Giants' offense, and Barkley has at least 12 carries and three targets in all nine games he's played this season. After a Week 13 bye, Barkley will need 135 scrimmage yards in Week 14 against the Packers to reach 1,000 for the fourth time in six NFL seasons.
Two receiving scores in Week 11 win

Barkley opened the scoring with a 24-yard receiving touchdown, on which he showed off his downfield pass catching ability by securing a back shoulder throw and keeping his feet from going out of bounds. He added a five-yard receiving score in the fourth quarter to give the Giants a 21-12 lead. Barkley's second touchdown came four plays after he broke free for a season-long 36-yard run, and he added a 31-yard run on New York's next drive. Despite rushing for minus-2 yards in the first half, Barkley finished with 77-plus yards for the fifth time in his last six appearances. He should remain the focal point of a Giants offense quarterbacked by Tommy DeVito in Week 12 against the 2-8 Patriots.
Good to go

Barkley was a limited participant Wednesday through Friday, with the Giants continuing to manage his practice workloads ever since he returned from a high-ankle sprain for Week 6. It's been a much different story on game days; he's averaged 22.0 carries and 4.2 targets on 53.2 snaps the past five weeks, serving as the engine of an otherwise dysfunctional offense that's now down to third-string QB Tommy DeVito (shoulder).
Another limited practice

Barkley maintained his activity level from one day prior, which seemingly is the result of the running back tweaking his previously sprained right ankle in the late moments of this past Sunday's defeat in Dallas. He's been the sole bright spot in an offense lacking on much firepower, especially with undrafted rookie Tommy DeVito (shoulder) at quarterback. Over his last five games, Barkley has racked up 124 touches for 518 yards from scrimmage and one receiving TD. Friday's injury report will reveal whether or not he enters the weekend with an injury designation for Sunday's contest at Washington.
Limited again by ankle injury

According to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, Barkley tweaked his high right-ankle sprain near the end of this past Sunday's loss at Dallas. Barkley sat out Weeks 3 through 5 after he initially sustained the injury, and the issue has limited his practice reps at times since then. With the concern again inhibiting his on-field work, his status will be one to monitor as the week goes on to see if he may be impacted by it Sunday at Washington.
Cracks century mark in total yards

Barkley started Sunday's contest clear of any injury designations after battling ankle and elbow injuries in recent weeks. The Giants' superstar displayed his improved health by reaching triple digits in total yardage for the third consecutive week. Barkley has averaged 27.5 combined touches in four games since returning from injury in Week 6, and he may be asked to carry a heavier load on offense since quarterback Daniel Jones (knee) is feared to have torn an ACL in the loss to Las Vegas. Expect the flailing Giants to lean on its star tailback in a road tilt against Dallas next Sunday.
Clear for Week 9

Barkley endured practice limitations during Week 9 prep due to a listed ankle injury, which likely was maintenance related due to the high-ankle sprain that sidelined him Weeks 3 through 5. With his status confirmed for Sunday, he'll be looking to continue a stretch in which he's been the only reliable offensive option for the Giants. Over the last three games, Barkley has piled up 344 yards from scrimmage and one receiving touchdown on 91 touches.
Gets 39 touches in OT loss

Barkley was already the focal point of the offense, but the Giants leaned even more heavily on the running back after undrafted rookie Tommy DeVito took over under center in the second quarter following Tyrod Taylor's (ribs) exit. A 34-yard Barkley run, coupled with a pair of unnecessary roughness calls on the Jets defense, set up DeVito's six-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, which gave the Giants a 10-7 lead. Barkley would have a high touch floor if DeVito remains under center in Week 9 against the Raiders, but New York's entire offense would have a far higher ceiling if either Daniel Jones (neck) or Taylor is cleared to return by then.
Cleared for Week 8

The lack of an injury designation isn't particularly surprising after Barkley was able to return to last Sunday's win over the Commanders after hyperextending his elbow during the contest. He finished the game with an 83 percent snap share and 24 touches, after handling 79 percent of snaps and 28 touches the week before in a loss to Buffalo in his first game back from an ankle injury. Barkley should be busy again this Sunday and will once again have quarterback Tyrod Taylor alongside him in the backfield rather than Daniel Jones (neck).
