Chile and Bolivia meet Friday for a chance to top Group A at Copa America 2015.
Thus far, each squad has beaten Ecuador and tied Mexico, putting them in a tie atop the group with four points. A win obviously means a position atop the group, while, thanks to Mexico’s loss to Ecuador earlier in the day, a draw would mean Chile wins the group and Bolivia finishes second.
Either way, both teams are assured a spot in the knockout round.
The story of Arturo Vidal’s car crash and subsequent request has somewhat sullied Chile’s quest to win the Copa America as hosts, and it will be interesting to see how they respond in their first match since that incident.
Bolivia, meanwhile, will advance past group play for the first time since 1997 but will still have motivation to grab three points in hopes of receiving an easier opponent in the quarterfinals.
