Meet Wayne Gallman, Clemson Running Back

Most of the attention leading up to the national championship game between Alabama and Clemson has been on running back Derrick Henry. With Clemson’s magical 2015 season, Gallman gains more notoriety as each week passes.

According to ESPN, Gallman was a four-star recruit out of Loganville, Georgia that was pursued by a number of universities. He received offers from Ole Miss, Georgia, Auburn and Georgia Tech among others.

Gallman is coming of his two best games of the season. In the College Football semifinal game against Oklahoma, Gallman had 26 carries for 150 yards and two touchdowns.

In the ACC championship, he had 28 carries for 187 yards and one touchdown. He also had four receptions for 68 yards and a receiving touchdown.

Gallman offers Clemson a threat as a traditional back but also can be utilized in the passing game. DeShaun Watson has been known to find Gallman in short passing situations that result in big gains.

The good news for Clemson fans is he is only a sophomore and will be returning next season for the Tigers.
