Barcelona continue their unbeaten run through La Liga play today, lining up Sevilla as their latest victim. Atletico’s win on Saturday all but eliminated Real Madrid from the title race, and Barcelona can extend their league lead to eight points with a win today.
There’s extra motivation at Camp Nou, as Sevilla were the last team to defeat Barca during the reverse fixture back in October. Before that, Barca had won ten straight league fixtures over Sevilla.
Sevilla manager Unai Emery has his hands full in this matchup, as several key players will be unavailable, including suspended Ever Banega. Barcelona remain injury-free, with Rafinha’s long-term injury the only blemish on the roster.
Barcelona had the past two days off after Champions League action earlier this week. Lionel Messi scored a brace in a 2-0 win over Arsenal, putting Barcelona on track to qualify for the Champions League quarterfinals.
