The New York Islanders hadn’t won a playoff series in over 20 years before last week and now not only have they done that, they’ve also jumped out to an early lead in the second round.

It got a little dramatic near the end, but the Islanders held on for a Game 1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning and now the wild card squad is focused on seizing control before heading back to Brooklyn.
