Game Preview: Washington enters today’s College Football Playoff semifinal matchup as a heavy underdog. Alabama is the only Power Five team to go undefeated this season.

The Crimson Tide brings with them what could be the most talented defense under Nick Saban. It is no surprise Alabama’s defense is good, but the 2016 defense has consistently created points off turnovers.

Freshman quarterback Jalen Hurts has added a new dimension to the Alabama offense. Hurts has a number of great receivers to look to including Calvin Ridley and ArDarius Stewart. The matchup to watch will be the Washington secondary against Alabama’s wide receivers.

Washington’s success has been built around a defense with several NFL-caliber players along with an offense full of playmakers. Speedster John Ross is one of the best wide receivers in the nation and just one of the many weapons quarterback Jake Browning has at his disposal. Browning’s play against a stout Alabama defense will decide whether the Huskies can stay in the game.
