The Kansas City Chiefs are AFC West champions. Their victory over the Chargers combined with the Raiders loss to the Broncos clinched the title for Kansas City. The Chiefs owned the tiebreaker over the Raiders given they took the season series with the Raiders. With just hours remaining in the NFL regular season, the Chiefs were waiting to see where their postseason fate lies.

A Chiefs win along with a Raiders loss gave them the AFC West title and move Kansas City up to the second seed. If those two things did not happen, the Chiefs would have been the fifth seed.

The Chiefs get a first round bye and will not know their opponent until the completion of the the AFC Wild Card weekend games. They will host the lowest remaining seed on either January 14 or 15. They could face the Raiders, Texans, Steelers or Dolphins in two weeks.

Kansas City will host the Divisional Round game on Sunday, January 15 at 1:05 p.m. Eastern on NBC.
