Miami is headed to the Fiesta Bowl to take on Ole Miss. The squads’ next College Football Playoff clash will take place in Glendale, Arizona, on January 8, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. Eastern on ESPN. Miami and Ole Miss are just one win away from playing for a national championship.
Miami is a 3-point favorite versus Ole Miss in the Fiesta Bowl, per DraftKings. The line initially opened with the Canes as a 2.5-point favorite, but it quickly moved in favor of Miami. The over-under is set at 52.5 points.
Prior to the quarterfinals, Miami was projected to be a 1.5-point favorite over Ole Miss in the lookahead line for the potential matchup, per DraftKings. Miami’s impressive performance against Ohio State appears to have pushed the odds a little more in favor of the Canes.
Here’s what you need to know about Miami’s upcoming Fiesta Bowl matchup.
Miami QB Carson Beck Will Not Face Former Georgia Team in the Fiesta Bowl
Georgia was unable to take care of business against Ole Miss to set up a matchup against former quarterback Carson Beck. Back in January 2025, Beck pulled a surprise by transferring to Miami instead of entering the NFL draft as expected.
“Everything has a shelf life, and I think the shelf life there (at Georgia) was over, and it was just time to start something new, to get into a new program, to start a new chapter of my life, my career,” Beck said in July when discussing his decision to transfer from Georgia to Miami, per Yahoo Sports. “I think the biggest thing for me, obviously, was the offensive fit.
“As a quarterback, the (offensive coordinator), the scheme, the talent and guys that you’re going to have around you is huge to the success and ultimately, the future… of a quarterback, but (also for) me (personally). This is my future and I think this decision is one of the better decisions I’ve made.”
Miami Is an Impressive 9-5 Against the Spread in the College Football Odds This Season
Miami has rewarded bettors this season with a 9-5 record against the spread, per TeamRankings.com. The Canes games have trended towards the under. Miami has hit the under in nine games while the over has hit in five contests.

Ole Miss vs. Miami Pick: The Rebels Make Improbable Run to National Championship
Given all the drama surrounding Ole Miss to close the season, the Rebels could make an improbable run to the national title. Ole Miss will need all of star quarterback Trinidad Chambliss’ magic against a stout Miami pass rush.
Our prediction has Ole Miss pulling off the upset and making the national title game as Lane Kiffin watches from Baton Rouge. Kiffin could be having some serious FOMO after bolting for LSU.
