The Chicago White Sox had DFA'd former Boston Red Sox prospect Jedixson Paez

The Chicago White Sox are having a rough start to the 2026 season. At the time of this writing, they have a 1-4 record and are at the bottom of the American League Central. This included them suffering a 9-2 loss to the Miami Marlins in their most recent game on Tuesday.

Now, with Chicago struggling, they have made a roster move involving a former Boston Red Sox prospect.

The White Sox have announced that they have designated Jedixson Paez for assignment. This was in response to Chicago selecting Lucas Sims from Triple-A Charlotte.

Paez appeared in his first three major league games this season with the White Sox before being designated for assignment. During them, he allowed two home runs, three walks, and six earned runs in 3.0 innings pitched.

The White Sox selected Paez at the Rule 5 draft from the Red Sox. This is after the 22-year-old righty had a 0-3 record, a 2.79 ERA, and 23 strikeouts in seven games for Single-A+ Greenville last season.
