MLB Social Media Reacts To Emerson News

Emerson was the 22nd pick in the 2023 MLB Draft, so fans are very focused on his development with the franchise.
Here’s what people were saying about the decision on X:
@MarinerMuse: “Unsurprisingly at this stage, Colt Emerson will start the season in Tacoma”
@Gravel_sense: “genuinely thought they might make it interesting and start him at third while Crawford is shelved. Oh well.”
Ryan Divish: “Emerson played well this spring. But he will start the season in the minor leagues.”
Brady Farkas: “The right move with regards to Colt Emerson. 40 games above High-A is even less than Julio Rodriguez had (44) before his call-up. He’ll be up, possibly soon, but this is the right move right now.”
@EKlesick: “Right move to keep Colt moving as he prepares to make his way into The Show ✨ so excited to see him make his debut when the timing is right!”
@MarinersONTap: “Colt Emerson will be in Tacoma to start the year. Thought he might have a shot to start the year at SS with JP’s shoulder injury.”

Seattle Last Season

The Mariners are coming off an excellent year where they were the top team in the American League West with a 90-72 record.
They went 51-30 at home in Seattle.
After defeating the Detroit Tigers in the ALDS, the Mariners lost to the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALCS (in seven games).
