UPDATE: Boston Celtics Make Roster Change After Wizards Game

On Saturday evening, the Boston Celtics played the Washington Wizards (at home).

The Celtics won by a score of 111-100.

Max Shulga played two minutes (but did not record any stats).

UPDATE: The signing is official. 

Following the game, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the Celtics are making a roster move with Shulga.

Charania wrote: “The Boston Celtics are signing two-way Max Shulga on a standard two-year contract, sources tell ESPN. The Ukrainian guard went to Boston with the No. 57 pick in last June’s NBA draft and has spent the season with Maine in the G League.”

Shulga has had limited playing time in the NBA, as he is currently averaging just 1.5 minutes of action in four games.

Shulga played five seasons of college basketball at Utah State and VCU.

During his final season, he averaged 15.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.8 steals per contest while shooting 43.5% from the field and 38.7% from three-point range in 35 games.

In the G League, the 23-year-old has averages of 16.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.7 steals per contest while shooting 43.8% from the field and 39.6% from three-point range in 23 games.

The Celtics are the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 44-23 record in 67 games.

They have won six out of their last ten games (and are 22-10 at home).
