A change on the injury report for the Miami Heat could give the Philadelphia 76ers an advantage on February 26.
Initially, the Heat planned to play Norman Powell. As he deals with groin soreness, he was listed as available on the official NBA injury report. According to Ira Winderman, the heat are downgraded Powell to questionable ahead of the action.
Beyond Powell, the Miami Heat injury report is quite crowded.
Norman Powell In Danger Of Missing Sixers Matchup

GettyNorman Powell has been downgraded on the Miami Heat’s injury report against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Powell hasn’t missed any action since the Heat returned from the All-Star break. During the February 20 math against the Atlanta Hawks, Powell checked in for 24 minutes to face the Atlanta Hawks.
Over the next two games, Powell faced the Memphis Grizzlies and the Milwaukee Bucks. The Heat are 2-1 following Powell’s appearance at the 2026 NBA All-Star game.
While he’s been available lately, Powell had his fair share of struggles with his availability before the NBA shut down for a week. At the start of February, he missed two games in a row. Powell would return to the court for two appearances but missed the final two games before the break.
He could end up missing his sixth game this month, depending on Miami’s final decision in Philadelphia.
A Standout Season For Powell

The 32-year-old former second-round pick has been in the league since 2015. Powell’s career started with the Toronto Raptors, where he became a one-time champion as a reserve. Following a six-year tenure in Toronto, Powell was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers.
The veteran guard finished the 2020-2021 season with the Blazers. Midway through the 2021-2022 season, he was traded again, landing with the Los Angeles Clippers. Powell spent three full seasons playing with the Clippers.
When the veteran All-Star Paul George left the Clippers in 2024-2025, Powell was a beneficiary. In 60 games, the veteran shot 48 percent from the field and knocked down 41 percent of his shots. He produced 21.8 points per game, along with 3.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.
Back in July, the Heat acquired Powell in a three-team deal. Many wondered what he would look like in a different situation after having a standout run, and Powell surely hasn’t disappointed.
In 48 games, Powell is averaging 22.9 points, while shooting 47 percent from the field and 39 percent from three. Beyond his scoring, Powell has dished out 2.6 assists, and came down with 3.6 rebounds.
The Sixers and the Heat are slated for a 7 PM ET tip.
